Draft for the opening season. These terms take effect on the date shown below and apply to bookings made on this site, by phone, or at the counter. Where this page and a booking confirmation differ, the confirmation governs that booking.
1. Booking and payment
A booking is confirmed when payment has been received and a confirmation code has been issued. Choosing a time online places a fifteen-minute hold on the equipment or tour seats while riders are added and the release is signed; a hold that is not paid within that time is released automatically and nothing is charged.
Payment is by card through Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure page and are never seen or stored by us. Prices are per bike or per seat as shown at booking, in US dollars, and include a helmet and a lock. Rentals and tours may also be booked and paid for at the shop.
2. Cancellations and refunds
A booking cancelled 24 hours or more before its start time is refunded in full to the original card. Cancellation is available online under "Look up a booking" until that deadline.
Inside 24 hours, refunds are at our discretion. Please call; where the bike or seat can be re-let, or a change of date is possible, we will do that first. A rider who does not arrive within 30 minutes of the start time without notice is treated as a no-show, and the booking is not refunded.
If we cancel a rental or tour, whether for weather, road or trail closures, or an operational reason, you choose between a new date and a full refund. Refunds are issued to the original card and typically appear within five to ten business days, depending on the card issuer.
3. Damage deposit
At pickup, a damage deposit is authorized on the card used to book: $100 per comfort cruiser or commuter e-bike and $250 per touring e-bike. The authorization is a hold, not a charge. It is released in full when the equipment is returned on time and in the condition it left in, allowing for normal wear.
Damage beyond normal wear, and equipment that is lost or not returned, is charged against the deposit at the cost of repair or replacement, itemised and photographed, and any balance above the deposit is invoiced. Normal wear includes tire wear, minor scuffs, and battery consumption. Equipment returned unusually dirty may incur a cleaning charge.
4. Rider requirements
- Every rider signs the release described in section 8 before riding. A parent or legal guardian signs for any rider under 18.
- Riders under 16 must be accompanied by a riding adult for the whole rental or tour. Children who are too small for a bike ride in a trailer or child seat, available as an add-on, and never on an adult saddle.
- Helmets are provided and must be worn whenever the bike is moving.
- Riders must be able to ride a bicycle confidently, hold a line in traffic, and follow the guide's instructions on tours. We may decline or end a rental or tour, without refund, for anyone we judge unable to ride safely, including through the influence of alcohol or drugs.
5. Where you may ride
Our bikes are Class 1 and Class 2 electric bicycles. Rentals stay on pavement: paved trails, bike lanes, and public roads. Larimer County prohibits e-bikes on its natural-surface trails, and other land managers set their own rules; the current rules for every trail we recommend are cited and dated on the e-bike rules page and covered in the briefing at pickup. Riding a rental on a closed or prohibited trail ends the rental without refund, and any fine is the rider's.
Riders are responsible for obeying traffic law, posted trail rules, and speed limits on shared paths, and for riding within their ability and the conditions.
6. Guided tours
Tours depart at the published time; please arrive fifteen minutes early for fitting and the route briefing. Tours run in small groups with a guide whose decisions on route, pace, stops, and turning back for weather or safety are final. A tour shortened for weather or safety after departure is not refunded, but we will discuss a credit toward another ride. Lunch and personal purchases during a tour are not included unless the tour page says otherwise.
7. Returns
Rentals are due back at the shop by the end of the booked period. A return more than 15 minutes late is charged at the published rate for the next rental block. Bikes must be returned to the shop, not left elsewhere, and reported immediately if stolen or involved in a collision; in either case we will need a police report number.
8. Release of liability
Riding a bicycle on roads and shared paths carries real risk. Every rider, or their parent or guardian, signs a release and assumption of risk before riding, electronically at booking or on paper at the counter. The release is shown in full before it is signed, and each signature is recorded with the version of the text it was given. Nothing on this page limits any right that cannot be limited under Colorado law.
9. Privacy
We collect the details a booking needs: the contact's name, email, and phone, each rider's name, and the signed release, including the time, network address, and device it was signed from. We use them to run the booking, contact you about it, and keep the release for as long as the law requires. Payment details go to Stripe and never reach our systems; we hold only a Stripe reference and the last four digits of the card. We do not sell or share your details with anyone except the services that process them (Stripe for payment, Amazon Web Services for hosting and email). Holds that are never paid are deleted automatically.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these policies; the version in force is the one published here on the date of your booking, and material changes are dated below. Questions about any of this: write to service@mt-ebike-adventures.com or ask at the shop.
