Berthoud sits just south of Loveland, surrounded by the kind of quiet, low-traffic farm roads that e-bikes were built for, with the Front Range standing along the whole western horizon. It is a short drive to our shop, and the right base if your taste runs to empty pavement rather than busy trails.

Roads, not trails
Around Berthoud the good riding is on pavement between fields. On Colorado roads an e-bike has the rights and duties of any vehicle, so you ride with traffic, signal, and stop at the signs; we brief the route before you roll and mark the crossings that deserve care.
Where an e-bike may ride around Berthoud
Public roads are governed by state law, which gives an e-bike the rights and duties of any other vehicle; that is the ride we suggest here. Larimer County's open spaces in the foothills to the west allow Class 1 and 2 e-bikes on paved trails only and prohibit them on natural-surface trails, so the county's singletrack is for hiking, not for our bikes.
